
1) Tarlov cysts are fluid-filled sacs that are usually found at the bottom of the spine.
2) Shock, trauma, injury or even genetics can cause spinal fluid in the cysts to build up.
3) "About 10% of people in the world have cysts in their spine...only about 1% have symptoms"
4) Tarlov cysts can cause symptoms such as lower back pain, chronic pain overall, sciatica, headaches, GI issues, menstrual dysfunction, issues with bladder control, loss of feeling and movement of legs/feet.
5) Tarlov cysts can cause permanent damage to the nervous system.
6) Women are at a higher risk of developing these cysts than men.
